Message from the Chairman
150 Years of People, Trust and Innovation
This year, 2009, is a year of special importance to those of us at Brink’s. One hundred and fifty years ago, Perry Brink made his first delivery in a horse-drawn wagon in Chicago, and founded a company that would carry his name into the 21st century. On April 29, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Brink’s.
Ours is a remarkable story that is as much about history as it is about the company itself; it reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of a growing nation, the excitement of technology revolution, and the anguish of natural disasters, world wars, economic crises and more. The Brink's legacy is the heritage of drive and determination that Perry Brink left us, and the heritage of drive and determination that we will leave to future generations of Brink’s.
In celebrating 150 years, we hope to express our gratitude to the thousands of men and women who developed the company from a fledgling delivery company to a global secure logistics leader, and to all of those who have contributed towards Brink's worldwide reputation as the most trusted name in business. Through this Brink’s 150 Anniversary site, celebrations and other special activities throughout the world, we hope to recognize and thank customers and communities for the roles they’ve played in the story of Brink’s, and their contribution to our growth, longevity, and success.
Anniversary activities are already underway, and will continue throughout the year. I thank you for taking part in Brink's history and look forward to celebrating this important occasion together.
